Home Helpers: Meet Our Comfort Keepers® 

Our team of home helpers are uniquely qualified and ready to help.

Every member of our team is professional and well trained. We conduct a thorough screening and interviewing process to identify the home helpers, and only those who pass this process go on to complete training to deliver our special brand of home care and become Comfort Keepers®. What truly sets our people apart, though, is their natural gift for caring for others. 

All Comfort Keepers home helpers pass extensive background checks and complete continuing education. They are bonded, insured and covered by workers' compensation insurance to protect our clients and their families who utilize our services for home care in Cupertino.

Arezu Baktashian

Media and Communications

Arezu Baktashian is the Media and Communications Coordinator. She has been a Comfort Keeper for eight years helping with many aspects of managing senior home care services. Arezu is responsible for procuring, direct mail, organizing community events, and online marketing.

Arezu also helps with creative development of communication and marketing material for Comfort Keepers® business development and expansion. Arezu helps the San Jose, San Mateo, and Silicon Valley offices. Arezu’s educational background includes business, creative writing, environmental, and literary studies.

She has volunteered in various San Jose Public Libraries and O'Connor Hospital as well as with some charitable races. She has a dog, Minnie, who is also a Comfort Keeper and can be found some days at our Cupertino office.

Gena Barrera

Marketing Representative

Gena Barrera is the Marketing Representative at Comfort Keepers® of Cupertino, providing senior home care services in San Jose and Silicon Valley. Gena has eight years of caregiving experience. Gena began in-home senior care when she found out her elderly grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and her grandfather with colon cancer.

Gena decided to move to the Silicon Valley to provide home care for her senior grandparents while they were in hospice care. While going through the trials and tribulations of being a caregiver, Gena immediately noticed how helpful, important, and extremely rewarding it was.

Shortly after the passing of her loved ones, Gena went back to school to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. She knew in-home senior care was her passion. Gena is now CPR, AED, and CNA certified. She has worked in all types of care environments, such as sub-acute, long-term, rehabilitation, hospice and Skilled Nursing Facilities.

She enjoyed every moment of her caregiving career and is excited to be networking for Comfort Keepers. Say hello to Gena at our next tradeshow! 

Daisy Larios

Scheduling Coordinator

Daisy is the Scheduling Administrator. Born and raised in San Jose, Daisy's commitment to health care stems from seeing her mother's devotion to the field as a registered nurse. Wanting to feel the joy she watched her mother experience while caring for others, Daisy began caregiving at the age of 18 and has "loved every moment of it."

With five years of experience under her belt, Daisy is also working to become a Registered Nurse. She is currently CNA and CPR certified and has worked and volunteered at multiple skilled nursing facilities.

Additionally, her background in management and customer service has made her an important asset to the Comfort Keepers team as head of scheduling. While making connections, communicating with all the caregivers and managing the stress of emergency situations, you can find her at the Cupertino office with a smile on her face that is evident even over the phone.

Myka Gaston

Office Operations Manager

Myka is the Human Resources and Client Intake Specialist. Born and raised in Texas, Myka recently relocated to the Bay Area after her mother passed. Her mother was diagnosed in the early 90’s with the chronic autoimmune disease, Lupus. Being diagnosed with Lupus brought forth other medical conditions leaving her mother to care and provide for her household while ill; seeing her mother sick the majority of life lead to her passion in caring for others.

Early in her education Myka participated in H.O.S.A. and Clinical Rotation. Each week she volunteered a portion of her day to hospitals and nursing homes to receive credits towards graduating. Providing care for seniors and others who needed assistance gave her even more drive to pursue her medical career. In 2004, she attended Prairie View A&M University with the goal of receiving her Bachelors of Science in Nursing.

After the birth of her two sons Myka devoted six years to supervision and management in the hospitality industry. Though successful in her positions and advancing rapidly, she did not feel her needs we being fulfilled. Shortly after her move to San Jose she heard about Comfort Keepers through a neighbor and applied as a caregiver. Seeing this as an opportunity to get her foot back into the healthcare field she exceeded client expectations and is now a part of the Comfort Keepers office staff.

Sarvannah Purcell

HR Specialist

Sarvannah Purcell joined our San Mateo office team as Client Services Coordinator in 2014. Through this position, she provides a variety of services to clients including on-site introductions and training, supervisory visits, after hours on-call duty as well as covering shifts in an emergency. Additionally, she is in charge of hiring, orientations and scheduling for the San Mateo office.

Sarvannah obtained her Business Technology Certificate in 2004 and completed internships at the Department of Corrections and Children Services. Her love for helping the elderly stems, in part, from her experience providing care and companionship for her grandparents before they passed away.


Mahnoush Harirsaz

Field Operations Manager


Mahnoush has had a variety of leadership roles as a Supervisor and Director at Adult Education programs and Program Consultant at California Department of Education.

Taking care of two family members with Dementia and Parkinson’s disease made her interested in the field of Caregiving.


Mahnoush joined Comfort Keepers in June of 2015. She will be managing different aspects of the organization related to staff members and clients to ensure client satisfaction is delivered and maintained.

Mahnoush holds a Master’s Degree from Notre Dame de Namur University and a Professional Administrative Credential from California State University, Hayward. She is also an Artist and has started an Art gallery and a MultiCultural Organization called Art and Culture Society.
